New York, New York

Hey lovelies!

Wanted to throw up some pics of NEW YORKKKK - spent 4 days over in the States, first in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the over to New York, New York!

New York was just amazing, I've never been so overwhelmed by a city in my life. Times Square is just a blur, Macy's was massive, the Chelsea Markets were a hipster's dream, Bryant Park was just so amazing to people-watch in, Grand Central Station is just a beautiful structure, and Rockefeller Plaza looked just like in 30 Rock :P

Allentown was really cool, both in spirit and physically, snowing heavily of course! I got to try lots of food - my first Cinnabon was a treat, Dunkin' Donuts was gross, Starbucks was somehow better than the Irish version, and I made us pull over more than once to avail of the huge slushies at 'gas' stations :P

Prague! (Life Update - Feb 2016)

 Heya m'darlings!
Very late coming, but thought I'd put up some pics from my BookSoc trip to Prague, Czech Republic! Went at the end of January, and had the beeeest time - we went to the zoo, the sex machines museum, a chocolate museum, we went to an Exit Game, we tried all sorts of beer (it's the BEST beer in the world!), went to an ice bar, went to a Kafka museum, and finallyyyy went up to Prague Castle!

Clifden Adventures...

Some photos taken during the day or two I spent in Clifden, in the West

of Ireland. The Skoda and Colgate posters were taken in a brilliant Vintage Poster Gallery,

The Sweeney Todd painting was a mural outside a barber shop (!!!)

I definitely recommend walking to anyone going to Clifden, though

that cow did try to kill me -

to take a picture, I do love ruins :3 

The platform picture was taken outside the Station House of Clifden, a converted

train station, now a lovely restaurant that does lovely food (I had the chicken salad)

All in all; A very nice day.

Galway Arts Festival 2014

 A month or so late putting these pictures up, but oh well. The Galway Arts Festival is hands-down my favourite festival in Ireland, so I had to share these pics!

This may be one of the best pictures I've ever taken! One of the gazillions of street acts that day, these guys were energetic and lively, they were brilliant to watch.

I love the energy and feeling of Galway during the Arts Festival, I really do. There are even more street performers, events every day, the sun usually shines. . . it really is the best time to see Galway.

There were tons of art installations brought in too, one of the more prominent ones being Joe Caslin's paintings on buildings - and the reason I love these is not just because they're incredibly visually striking, but they're also permanent. That we like to see.

 One of my favourite places to be during the festival was the Festival Big Top - where all the gigs take place! My dad sets it up, so generally I see him in there - last year for Grizzly Bear, and this year for Walking On Cars and The Coronas! It really looks great, and is surprisingly large inside.

Kurt Perschke's Red Ball Project also came to Galway, in a different place every day for a week - with people finding out it's location via his Twitter or his Instagram. We bumped into it on Quay Street, Shop Street, the Town Hall, Blackrock, and Spanish Arch!

All in all, this was one of the best Galway Arts Festivals I've experienced, and I'm betting 2015 will bring an even better one.

Arctic Monkeys And Other Escapades

As all of my friends will know (I still haven't shut up about it, I'm sorry guys) Arctic Monkeys were AMAZING. They really and truly were.

 So I shall treat you lovely readers to some genuinely terribly taken pictures, my gift to you. You're welcome.

Alex Turner was this close to me,no lie. I maaaay have used the zoom function...but only lightly. I swear he glanced at me. I AM THE CHOSEN ONE. BOW DOWN TO ME.

By far the best tweet of the night. A TWEET I CAN STRONGLY (AND LOUDLY) RELATE TO.  That with the fact that Jay Z's 99 Problems was blaring at the time. Yes.

The marvelous T-shirt I received for the gig and my birthday from my darling Mia! If you don't get the reference, then you're not cool enough to be reading my blog. Haha. I kid. I'm the least cool person I know. If you don't get the reference, watch this video of Alex Turner at the BRIT Awards and you shall see why I ADORE this T-shirt.

If that damn pony-tailed annoyance hadn't decided to try mount some poor man's shoulders, this would've been a terrific picture opportunity. Oh well. (I'm trying to let go of my grudge.)

The supporting acts were Miles Kane (wearing the grooviest shirt known to man),

Jake Bugg (who was as adorable up close as he is in his videos and interviews),

And Royal Blood - a fairly new band who were BRILLIANT.

All in all, it was a pretty amazing gig and worth every cent. Getting to Marlay Park was easier than anticipated and I met a good lot of friends there. I loved every second.

Hipster Post #001

Okay, I shall admit it here and now -
I am quite possibly a very annoying hipster.
Scratch that. Possibly? Ehhh.. Probably.

This little revelation came whilst here in Dublin. Now, let me explain. One of my favourite things in the world to do is to take nice pictures of buildings and whatnot that I can draw later. In fact, I just love taking pictures of things in general! As long as I can have my Photoshop.

Maybe it's because I like to think I see beauty in all things.
Maybe it's because I'm a ridiculous hipster.
Either way, I'm happy with my little project :P
And if I am one indeed, I am happy to be an irritating hipster.
DON'T YOU MOCK ME!
